PUBLISHED PIECES
Why Do Authors Publish?
Authors write so others can read. Authors want to share their stories, knowledge, or perspectives with a wider audience, to gain recognition and credibility, and to potentially earn income through royalties and book sales.

Why Do I Publish?

When I started on this new adventure, it was about sharing my family stories with my children and grandchildren, and that continues to be the priority for my soon-to-be-completed and published Family Stories Collection, but it has become so much more. I love writing. I love learning about the craft and striving and improving.
Through my Writing on the Senior Side stories in the Haliburton County Echo / County Life, I wanted to connect with my community and write about our shared Baby Boomer lives lived and current interests.

Through the six courses I completed through the Creative Writing Program, School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto, I developed an affinity for microfiction, short stories and began to realize I can write a mystery novel.

I am an author. I am also 76 years old. I am not going to be famous or even reasonably well-known and that is okay.

And yet, I must admit, would like to share my stories with a wider audience and even get a little recognition along the way.

I am a published author and I hope you explore this section of my website to learn more about my published pieces.
